Nestled between existing mature trees and oriented to take advantage of its lakeside views, the Schuyler Lake House was designed to suit its owners' particular lifestyle. A large wall of windows in the "great room" offers year-round views over the lake while a covered deck -- situated to the side of the great room in order to share a double-sided fireplace without obstructing lake views from either space -- is protected on three sides by the house and existing trees. A "pub" just off the home's main living space facilitates at-home entertaining, while the kitchen and dining area provides views to both the front and back of the house.
Special care was taken during design to maximize natural light, views and outdoor-living opportunities while maintaining an attractive, well-proportioned appearance both inside and out.
